Dr. Cong Phan is an Eisenhower fellow and Honorary Consul of Cyprus in Vietnam. He is the Chairman of SaigonFoods, and UniBrands – a group of private companies leading in natural personal care and cosmetics, local eateries (Lẩu Công Chúa, Cơm Ngon … ). Cong also serves as board member of Mekong Capital – a reputable private equityfirm in Vietnam, and Hoa Thien Phu – a fast growing food supplement company.
Prior to UniBrands, Cong was the co-founder and the CEO of International Consumer Products (ICP), built a start-up company become the third largest personal care company in Vietnam (after Unilever and P&G) in 10 years. Under Cong’s leadership, ICP saw remarkable achievements as the market leader in personal care for male with X-Men brand. After ICP was acquired by Marico Ltd, an Indian FMCG group in 2011, Cong continued to serve as the CEO of ICP, then Executive Vice President – Head of Southeast Asia of Marico Group till the end of 2014.
Cong’s unique combination of strong leadership and operational strengths was also recognized by his success in growing sales and profits at numerous global corporations. During his time at Nestle Vietnam from 2000 to 2004, he helped the brand MILO to enjoy tremendous growth which resulted in the MILO trophy when MILO Vietnam was the best performing country among Nestle worldwide. At Smithkline Beecham from 1998 to 2000, Cong successfully built Panadol as the number one pain reliever in Vietnam.
Cong and his family live in Vietnam. He received national medals such as “For Young Generation”, “For Sport Development”, and business award as Ernst & Young “Entrepreneur Of The Year” in 2014. Cong is a member of global YPO (Young President Organization), CEO organizations. He served in YPO as Regional Board Member(South East Asia) and Chapter Chair of YPO Vietnam.
