Nguyễn Thị Mai Thanh has spent her life-time career in Refrigeration Electrical Engineering JSC (REE), a publicly-traded diversified business group operating in mechanical and electrical engineering services (M&E); manufacturing, assembling and sales of Reetech air-conditioner systems; real estate development and management; and power & water utility infrastructures. Under her leadership, REE Corp achieved many milestones in Vietnam’s stock market: the first equitized state-owned company, the first company to issue convertible bonds and the first company to receive capital from foreign funds.
Born in 1952, she graduated in Electrical Engineering from Karl-Marx-Stadt Technical University (Germany). In 1986, at the age of 34, she was appointed as the top leader of REE’s electric and precursor factory later on. From the blank stage of infrastructure, Ms. Thanh oriented the strategy of bringing the enterprise to development and continuously expanding into new business areas during the past three decades. At present, REE Corp is a leading M&E contractor that has footprint in many key infrastructure projects.
