Dr. Nguyễn Thị Hậu is a leading figure in archeology, history and cultural heritage in Vietnam. She is now Deputy Secretary General of Vietnam Association of Historical Sciences, General Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Historical Society.
She graduated from History at Ho Chi Minh City University (Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities) in 1980, PhD in Archeology at Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Social Sciences in 1997.
Dr. Nguyễn Thị Hậu is a lecturer at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City (1981 – 1994 and from 2015 to present), Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Museum of History (1994 – 2005), Deputy Director of the Institute of HCMC Development Research (2005 – 2014). Currently she is researching and teaching about Vietnamese Archeology, Vietnamese Culture, Community and Urban Culture, Preserving Urban Heritage … She has participated in urban planning projects, social security and culture in Ho Chi Minh City … She has published a number of research projects and many other episodes about cultural heritage.
