Ms. Nguyễn Thị Kim Tiến has been Minister of Health since 2011. She holds a PhD in medicine and was awarded People’s Doctor by the Vietnam government.
Under her tenure, many projects such as reducing the congestion situations at hospital, developing health care in islands, building a health care insurance project, etc. have been approved by the Government and are being implemented. In addition, other projects such as the satellite hospitals, home doctor service, strengthening in health care facility and improving the quality of health care examination, and planning for central hospitals are also contributing to improve the health for people.
As the moderator of the health industry, one of the “hottest” fields in the public interest, from February 2015, she officially uses a personal Facebook to update the latest information in the medical field and to receive the feedbacks from the people.
In October 2015, she said she had been registered for organ donation in 2013 and called people to follow the act. She is currently the only minister who is not a member of the Central Committee.
