In 2007, Tan Thi Shu founded Sapa O’Chau, the first tourist facility of Hmong Lao Chai Commune (Sapa) in the model of community tourism. Guests participate in the tour of Sapa O’chau are not only visiting but also teaching at no charge a profession or a language for local children. Tan Thi Shu also established Sapa O’Chau School, which means “Thank you Sapa”, where children are taught skills and knowledge of being a tour guide. After more than eight years, Sapa has evolved from a charity touring business into a business that trades beverage and brocade in Sapa.
Tan Thi Shu is fluent in Mong and English. After the establishment of the tourism enterprise, Su continueed her unfinished studies. She is currently taking her complementary education class, 12th grade.
