Mrs. Nguyễn Thị Thanh Huyền has strived for 23 years from a garment worker to become the CEO of May 10 Company.
Under her leadership, the company expanded 5 times in size and grew into one of the top 3 garment export companies in Vietnam. Mrs. Huyền has run Garment 10 since 2006. The company is recognized as the largest domestic brand in the North. In 2016, also a tough year for the garment industry in Vietnam, May 10 earned 2916 billion VND in revenue, making it the 5th most profitable garment company in Vietnam.
At May 10, Mrs. Huyền is seen as a shining example of hard work. Having lost her parents since young, she was a worker in the morning and a student at night, biking her way to the central town to take evening classes. 2 years after May 10 became equitized, Mrs. Huyền was promoted to the CEO position and started to apply scientific advancements to manufacturing activities. She has researched about reducing time to produce shirts from 1,889 seconds to 696 seconds, thus doubling productivity compared to 10 years before. Average income of a worker at May 10, with more than 12,000 workers, is more than 7,000,000 VND/person/month.
